Dolly Parton Says No to Judging on Singing Shows — and Her Reason Will Melt Your Heart

Dolly Parton says no to judging on singing shows; her reason will melt your heart. The legendary entertainer will not be appearing as a judge on American Idol or The Voice anytime soon, and she gives the sweetest reason why that is the case. Watch the short clip to hear Dolly answer that question and many other questions.

Shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice continue to be popular even though some have been on for decades. People tune in weekly to see who makes it onto the show and advances to the next round of the competition. Of course, after all the auditions, performances and eliminations, only one person can be named the winner at the end of the season.

However, because of those eliminations, Dolly will never be a judge on American Idol or The Voice. In a clip posted on YouTube, the “Jolene” singer says she just doesn’t have it in her to tell someone no, regardless of their talent level.

“I’ve been asked to do that a lot of times,” she said. “It’s too hard for me. That’s why I don’t accept it. ‘Cause I know how sincere everybody is, even if they’re not that good. They believe they are, and now, I just can’t hurt people.”

In the clip, Dolly also revealed that she has no plans to ever go into space and that she is not even a big fan of flying. Additionally, she isn’t a fan of self-driving cars and would never be a passenger in a vehicle that drives itself.

Later in the clip, Dolly revealed herself as a fan of some popular fast-food chains.

“Oh, I don’t secretly do it, I just do it,” she said. “I love Taco Bell, of course. I love Burger King, of course. McDonald’s, always great.”

This Young Voice Speaks Truth — A Powerful Reminder of God’s Love and Protection

This young voice speaks truth and shares a powerful message, reminding us of God’s love and protection. He passionately informs those saved and under the blood that they have nothing to fear when the enemy attacks. Watch the short but moving clip to hear the little guy’s powerful and uplifting message about God’s love and protection.

Life is, more often than not, an unpredictable series of events. No one can be 100 percent certain what the future holds. Sure, we can have a general idea of what will happen, but anyone who says they know for sure is either a liar or insane, and possibly a little of both.

Not knowing what will happen in the future means we likely won’t see those painful and devastating moments coming when the enemy tries to attack. As everyone knows, those instances can be excruciatingly and agonizingly painful. But no matter what Satan may throw our way, we have a Lord and Savior greater than anything we encounter. In a clip posted on YouTube, a young man passionately reminds us of this fact.

In the video, the child begins his sermon by stating that no matter what we face, God is greater and more powerful than all of it. He is more than able to protect us when the enemy launches his attacks.

“In spite of all the chaos in the world, in spite of all the destruction, in spite of the things that we see, God wants me to remind you that as long as you’re walking with Him, while covered under the blood, you are protected.”

Later in the clip, the miniature preacher shares how the Lord will keep us safe and protected during our time of need.

“Because when the enemy wants to come against you, when he tries to fight against you, it is the fire and the Holy Ghost that surrounds you that will be our seal.”

What a powerful and moving message!

Moved to Tears, Woman Opens Up About a Beautiful Moment of Unexpected Kindness

Moved to tears, a woman opened up about a beautiful moment of unexpected kindness. She shared how one person’s compassion and love made a huge difference during a painful, heartbreaking moment. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear how one person’s simple act of kindness had a significant impact.

Sadly, this world is far too often a cruel, lonely and uncaring place. As evidenced by their attitudes and actions, many people are only concerned about themselves and fulfilling and meeting their needs. This dog-eat-dog mentality is seen everywhere, from our governmental leaders to our workplaces to even our neighborhoods.

However, being kind and showing someone a little grace and understanding can significantly impact them. When we do this, we will often never know the influence our actions had on them, which should never be a motivating factor. But in a clip posted on social media, one young woman shared how someone’s unexpected kindness allowed her to be with her dying grandfather in his last moments.

With tears in her eyes, the woman explained the situation. Her plane had just landed, and she had a connecting flight, and it was going to be tight whether she would be able to reach her next flight on time.

As people generally do after planes land, everyone on her plane stood up in the aisle and then didn’t move for what felt like ages. That’s when the woman sitting next to her did something unexpected.

“And when you could tell something was wrong, and nobody was getting out of the way so that I could get off the plane early, you asked me what was wrong, and I told you,” she said.

Her grandfather was dying, and without making her next flight, she was unsure if she would be able to say goodbye.

“You didn’t owe me anything, but you stepped out into the aisle, and you announced very loudly to everybody to please step aside so that I could get off the plane in a timely manner,” she said.

She barely made her connecting flight and was able to see her grandfather and say goodbye hours before he passed away, and it was made possible because of one person’s unexpected act of kindness.

Brooke Ligertwood Talks Origins of Worship Anthem ‘What a Beautiful Name’

Brooke Ligertwood discussed the origins of the popular worship anthem “What a Beautiful Name.” She shared how the beloved song came about and what specific section of Scripture inspired the Hillsong Worship tune. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear about the story behind “What a Beautiful Name.”

Hymns, in my opinion, are undoubtedly the best songs to be heard and played in church. There is just something about hearing and singing “Amazing Grace,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “How Great Thou Art” or any other hymn. Even though those songs may be hundreds of years old in some cases, those lyrics will forever remain relevant and powerful.

Despite my preference for the old church hymns, there are still a handful of classic contemporary Christian songs, and you can’t help but enjoy them. One is the Hillsong Worship song, “What a Beautiful Name.” Even if you aren’t a fan of contemporary Christian music, you are still familiar with this tune.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Brooke Ligertwood shares how the beloved, iconic song came to be and how a discussion about the first chapter of Colossians contributed to its creation.

“We were talking about the back half of Colossians one,” she said. “Which talks about the supremacy of Christ and talks about, you know, creation being made through Jesus. But then it talks about in verse 26 how the mystery that was hidden for ages and in generations has now been disclosed to the Lord’s people, which is Christ in us, the hope of glory.”

Later in the clip, Brooke states that anyone who has ever seen and understood their flaws and sins and asked the Lord for forgiveness understands how powerful and beautiful His name truly is.

“We really loved the idea of singing about the name of Jesus in a way that kind of unfolded some of the facets of the beauty, wonder and power of His name,” she said.

Acts 4:12 “And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.”

Scott Hamilton Reflects on His Adoption and the Powerful Ways God Was Moving

Scott Hamilton reflected on his adoption and how God was moving and working in that process. The Olympic gold medalist shared that he was adopted as a child, but also how, looking back, he can see that God was in control the whole time. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear how Scott sees God’s hand at work in his adoption.

Children are a gift and a blessing from the Lord above, and should be treated as such. Many would say children are the biggest blessing anyone can receive, and they are more than likely correct. For many people, becoming parents is a big desire, a dream. However, for one reason or another, a lot of couples cannot have children of their own.

Having biological children is not the only path to becoming parents. Adoption is a desperately needed, but sadly, often overlooked option. There are many children in this world who need good, safe and loving homes, and adoption is a way to provide that for little ones. In a clip posted on social media, Olympic skater Scott Hamilton shares how he was adopted and sees God’s hand at work, looking back all these years later.

The video begins with Scott saying that he was adopted as a child, stating that he was an “oops” and “unintended.” But, as he adds, he has learned that doesn’t mean he wasn’t wanted and loved.

“You know, it’s always that thing with adoption, right?” Scott said. “You know, there’s always that kind of a disconnect of, was I, I know I was unintended, but was I unwanted? And it’s really remarkable that now, all these 65 years later, you know, over the years, I really understood that God is in control. And He chose those parents for me.”

He adds how he will forever be grateful to his birth mother for “staying the course” and for being brave and generous enough to put him up for adoption, because he was eventually adopted by the two people God had selected to be his parents – two schoolteachers from northwestern Ohio.

Ephesians 6:4 “And, you fathers, do not make your children angry: but give them training in the teaching and fear of the Lord.”
