How To Clear The Ledger of Grace

How To Clear The Ledger of Grace - A devotional on Luke 14–16 exploring forgiveness, restoration, and the Prodigal Son through personal testimony and biblical truth.

Grace for the Goals You Didn't Reach | Your Nightly Prayer

We all know what it’s like to set goals and fall short. Maybe it was a promise to change a habit, to eat healthier, to save more, or to spend more time in prayer and Scripture—and despite your best intentions, you didn’t make it. In our evening prayer and devotional, Clarence Haynes Jr. reminds us that God’s grace meets us right in those moments of disappointment and self-doubt. His grace isn’t just what saves us—it’s what sustains us, especially when our best efforts fail. Like Paul, we learn that God’s power shines brightest in our weakness. The same grace that redeemed us is the grace that carries us when we stumble. God never measures your worth by your performance or perfection. He sees your heart, your desire to grow, and your willingness to get up and try again. When you fall short, grace doesn’t scold you—it lifts you. It reminds you that even when your plans remain unfinished, God’s purpose in you is still unfolding. Progress, not perfection, is what He desires. Every small step forward is still a step in faith. So tonight, if you’re reflecting on the goals you didn’t reach or the habits you didn’t break, rest in this truth: God’s grace fills every gap. His strength is made perfect right where yours runs out. Tonight’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Lord, Thank You for Your grace that never runs dry. When I fall short, remind me that You never do. Help me to stop measuring my worth by what I’ve achieved and start seeing myself through the lens of Your mercy. Teach me to depend on Your strength, not my own, and to trust that Your grace is sufficient for every weakness I face. Even when I don’t meet my goals, I know that You are still at work within me, perfecting what I cannot. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Grace Over Goals: Where in your life are you relying on your own strength instead of God’s grace? How might surrendering those areas bring you peace? Progress, Not Perfection: Think of one goal you didn’t meet this year. Instead of focusing on what you didn’t achieve, list the growth and lessons you gained in the process. Strength in Weakness: Meditate on this truth: God’s power is made perfect in your weakness. How might this change the way you view your struggles or setbacks? 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Reflect tonight on a goal you didn’t reach. Thank God for His grace that carried you through the effort and the lessons learned along the way. 💬 Share this devotion with someone who feels defeated or disappointed in themselves. Remind them that God’s grace is sufficient—especially in weakness. 📬 Sign up for Your Nightly Prayer to receive nightly encouragement and Scripture reflections in your inbox.

Sam’s Club Employee Steals the Show with Epic Dance Moves

Get a glimpse of real-life fun happening in a store and prepare to dance-along to a classic hit song. A Sam’s Club employee steals the show with epic dance moves.

If you are in the mood for some Earth, Wind, and Fire, get ready because this video highlights “Let’s Groove” as a man goes through Sam’s Club during a normal day to invite others to a dance party. You see a fun young man in a sweatshirt that says, “Rockstar Dist” with sunglasses, dancing in the middle of the giant store. The camera quickly turns the opposite direction, and an employee is joining in on the fun and getting his own groove on.

The young man filming jumps over to the employee, where a crowd of a variety of ages gathers around. They do a dance together unexpectedly, and then as the employee moves on to his job, the dancer continues on with a huge smile on his face. This worker made his day by joining in on the fun.

As the dancing guy moves through the shoppers, we see him get a variety of responses from customers. Some dance with him, and others quickly get out of the way to keep on their shopping missions.

Regardless of the reaction, everyone this man encounters ends up with a big smile on their face. Out of all Sam’s shoppers, the employee really shines. He has style, swag, and great dance moves. He and the young man have a blast.

You will love that they are not concerned about what everyone else thinks about them; they are focused on enjoying the moment and letting loose. Sometimes in life, we can become so consumed with the opinions of others that we forget that Jesus invites us to “dance” with Him and stay rooted in our identity in Him. May this short clip remind you to dance today.

"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.” Psalm 30:11-12

Sweet Moment Chick-fil-A Employee Connects with Child with Hearing Impairment

A Chick-fil-A employee had a sweet moment with a young boy with a hearing impairment. Grab the tissues before watching this clip because you'll need them. It's a heartwarming interaction that will pull at your heartstrings. Watch the short but powerful clip to see the precious moment between the Chick-fil-A staff member and the little boy.

Kindness and empathy are two things that are sorely lacking in our world today. We are in short supply of both. The evidence for this can be seen nearly everywhere you look. On popular social media platforms, people regularly respond to one another with hatred, hostility and a barrage of unrepeatable names. Those 24-hour cable "news" channels are basically nothing more than hours of people incessantly screaming at one another.

But what would happen if we were all a little kinder to one another? Or if we exhibited a little empathy now and then and put ourselves in someone else's shoes for a minute? How would our world change for the better? Things would probably improve considerably. A clip posted on YouTube shows what happens when someone takes the time to show someone else a little bit of kindness and love.

In the video, a little boy with a hearing impairment is in a Chick-fil-A touching a menu, but he's soon interrupted. A woman gets his attention, instructing him to look at the employee behind the counter. Once the boy focuses on the employee, the staff member asks the young man his name while using American Sign Language (ASL).

The little boy responds to the employee by signing back his name. The video's text indicates that this is the first time the young man signed his name using ASL.

It may have been a small move, but that employee's kindness likely meant the world to the little guy. It's a moment that will probably stay with him for a long time.

Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you."

A Prayer to Stand Firm in a Culture of Darkness | Your Daily Prayer

Darkness has always been part of life on this side of eternity, but today’s culture can make it feel overwhelming. In our daily prayer and devotional, we remember that the constant flood of sin, confusion, and moral compromise can tempt us to feel powerless or afraid. Peyton Garland reminds us, however, that the call to stand firm is not new—and that our strength doesn’t come from ourselves, but from the Lord. Ephesians 6 urges believers to “put on the full armor of God,” a vivid picture of spiritual preparation. Just as Roman soldiers equipped themselves daily for battle, we must clothe ourselves in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation—anchored by the Word of God and prayer. These are not abstract ideas but divine defenses against the lies and schemes of the enemy. Our world calls evil good and celebrates darkness as enlightenment, but we are called to live differently. To speak truth in love. To stand firm when others compromise. To shine Christ’s light into every space we inhabit—our homes, workplaces, and communities. Darkness cannot drive out light; it disappears when light is present. Standing firm in God’s armor doesn’t mean living in fear or anger—it means living with courage, love, and unwavering trust in the God who has already secured the victory. Today's Bible Reading: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." – Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV) Key Takeaways The spiritual battles we face require divine strength—our power comes from the Lord, not ourselves. The armor of God equips us to resist temptation, fear, and cultural compromise. Truth, righteousness, faith, and prayer are our daily weapons against spiritual darkness. Light always overcomes darkness—Christ’s presence in us pushes back the enemy’s schemes. Let’s Pray Together Father, thank You for giving us Your armor to protect and strengthen us in this dark world. Forgive us when we neglect the tools You’ve provided. Help us to stand firm in truth, to walk in righteousness, and to speak with love and boldness. Remind us that darkness cannot overcome Your light. Fill us with courage to reflect Your glory in a world that desperately needs You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Imitate Christ | Your Daily Prayer

Children learn by imitation—and as God’s children, we’re called to do the same. In today’s devotional and prayer, Emily Rose Massey reminds us that following Christ means reflecting His love, compassion, and holiness in our daily lives. Just as children copy the ones they love and trust, we are invited to model our hearts and actions after Jesus, the ultimate example of selfless love. He “gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” True imitation begins not with perfection, but with abiding in His presence, learning from His Word, and walking in love even when it costs us something. As we spend time with God and surround ourselves with other believers, we become more like Him—transformed by His Spirit, shaped by His truth, and empowered to live with humility and grace. Every act of love, forgiveness, and faithfulness becomes a fragrant offering of worship to the Lord. Let today’s prayer help you rediscover what it means to imitate Christ, one loving step at a time. 📜 Today's Bible Reading Ephesians 5:1–2 (ESV) “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” 🙏 Your Daily Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for saving me and calling me to walk in Your love. Help me to imitate Christ in every area of my life—my words, actions, and thoughts. Strengthen me to live with humility, grace, and boldness for Your glory. Surround me with believers who encourage me to walk faithfully and remind me to fix my eyes on Jesus, the perfect example of love and obedience. In His name I pray, Amen. 🧭 Key Takeaways We are called to imitate God by walking in love, just as Christ loved and sacrificed for us. True imitation begins with abiding in Christ and being transformed by His Spirit. Surround yourself with mentors and believers who model Christlike living. Every act of selfless love becomes a fragrant offering of worship to God.

When You Feel Spiritually Unmotivated | Your Nightly Prayer

Sometimes the hardest part of faith isn’t believing in God — it’s finding the energy to keep engaging with Him when our hearts feel numb. In tonight's prayer and devotional, Tracie Miles shares a powerful reminder that even the strongest believers experience seasons of spiritual dryness. These are times when prayer feels mechanical, worship feels distant, and the joy that once came so easily now seems unreachable. Like David in Psalm 51, we can find ourselves praying not for changed circumstances, but for restored joy — the kind that only comes from a renewed connection with God. We often hide behind smiles and busyness, trying to appear “fine,” while deep down our souls feel depleted. But God doesn’t ask us to fake our faith or manufacture our motivation. He invites us to be honest — to bring Him our weariness and let Him breathe new life into our hearts. Restoration begins with admission. When we stop pretending and start praying, He begins to rebuild from the inside out. The joy of salvation isn’t found in perfection or productivity; it’s found in His presence — even when all we can muster is a whisper of faith. If your heart feels tired or uninspired tonight, remember: God isn’t disappointed in your weakness. He delights in your desire to draw near again. Let Him restore your joy, one small spark at a time. Today's Psalm 51:12 (NIV) “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Dear Jesus, Tonight, I admit that I feel spiritually weary. My faith feels faint, my prayers feel weak, and my joy has been buried beneath the weight of life. But You, Lord, are the restorer of my soul. Please revive my heart and renew my spirit. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation — the joy that can’t be taken by hardship or disappointment. Help me trust again, praise again, and hope again, not because life is easy, but because You are near. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Reclaiming Joy: When was the last time you felt deeply joyful in your faith? What small steps could help you reconnect with that joy this week? The Power of Authenticity: What would it look like to be completely honest with God about your weariness? How might He use your vulnerability to bring renewal? Joy That Shines Through: Reflect on Proverbs 15:13 — “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.” How might you allow God’s joy to shine through you again, even in hard seasons? 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Read Psalm 51 aloud before bed. Let David’s prayer become your own cry for restoration and renewal. 💬 Share this devotion with someone who’s feeling spiritually drained. Letting God Finish What You Can't | Your Nightly Prayer

Some days, life feels like an avalanche—tasks piling up, emotions swirling, energy fading fast. The dishes aren’t done. The to-do list keeps growing. And no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to get ahead. In tonight's prayer and devotional, Chelsea Ohlemiller reminds us that even when our energy runs out, God’s does not. When our strength, patience, and perspective have reached their limits, His are still limitless. He doesn’t sleep, doesn’t quit, and never stops working for our good. We often equate rest with completion—believing we can’t stop until everything is finished. But true rest isn’t found in finishing the work; it’s found in trusting that He’s still working even when we stop. The weight you carry isn’t yours to hold alone. God holds you—and every unfinished thing that worries you. When you feel like you’re slipping under the pressure, remember this truth: your steadiness doesn’t depend on your strength. The One who never slumbers is watching, guiding, and securing every step you take. You can rest tonight not because everything is done, but because He never stops doing what only He can do. Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 121:3 (NIV) “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Lord, Thank You that even when I reach my limit, You never do. You see my overwhelm, my fatigue, and my unfinished work—and You cover it all with Your grace. Help me to trust that You are holding what I cannot carry and finishing what I cannot complete. As I rest tonight, remind me that Your hands never tire, and Your care never wavers. Let me release control, knowing that You are working all things together for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon When Strength Fails: Think of a time when you felt too weak to keep going but somehow made it through. Where do you now see God’s hand holding you steady? Trusting His Timing: What unfinished task, relationship, or dream are you trying to control? How might you hand it over to God tonight, trusting that His timing is perfect? Rest as Worship: How can resting in God’s presence—rather than striving in your own strength—become an act of faith and worship this week? 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Before bed, write down one burden or unfinished task and pray Psalm 121:3 over it. Then rest knowing God is holding it—and you. 💬 Share this devotion with someone feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin. Thankful for Small Things | Your Nightly Prayer

In a world that celebrates big achievements, it’s easy to overlook the quiet, everyday moments that matter deeply to God. But as Britt Mooney reminds us in our evening prayer and devotional, small things matter. Jesus often pointed to the overlooked and the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary heart of God. A widow’s two small coins became an offering greater than gold. A young boy’s simple lunch fed thousands. And a shepherd boy with a slingshot became a king. Over and over, Scripture shows that God delights in taking what seems small and using it for His glory. The world measures value in size and visibility—but God measures by faithfulness. Each kind word, every act of service, every unseen prayer becomes a thread in the tapestry of eternity. Whether it’s the way we speak to our children, care for a neighbor, or pause to thank God for the smallest blessings, these moments reflect the kingdom of Heaven at work in us. Even the tiniest gestures—a smile, a prayer, a word of encouragement—carry eternal weight when done in love. The small things are not insignificant to God; they are sacred opportunities to display His heart. So tonight, take inventory of your “small things.” The ones you might dismiss or forget. They matter—to God, to others, and to eternity. Tonight’s Scripture: Luke 16:10 (NIV) “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that small things matter to You. Help me not to overlook the quiet moments or dismiss what seems insignificant. Teach me to be faithful with the little, trusting that You can multiply it into much. May every small act of love, kindness, or service I offer today be an offering of worship to You. Let my gratitude grow in the ordinary moments, knowing that nothing done for You is ever wasted. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Start Small, Think Eternal: What small thing has God entrusted to you today? A relationship, task, or opportunity? How can you steward it with eternal perspective? Reframing the Ordinary: What daily routines feel insignificant or frustrating? Ask God to show you how even these moments can reflect His grace. God’s Multiplication: Reflect on a time when God took something small in your life—a prayer, a conversation, an idea—and used it for something far greater than you imagined. 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Pause tonight to thank God for three small blessings from your day. Speak them aloud in gratitude. 💬 Share this devotion with a friend who feels unseen or unimportant—remind them that God treasures their faithfulness in the little things. 📬 Sign up for Your Nightly Prayer to receive nightly encouragement and Scripture reflections delivered straight to your inbox.

A Prayer to Remember Life Is but a Breath | Your Daily Prayer

Life is fragile and fleeting—Scripture reminds us time and again that our days on earth are short, like a breath or a passing shadow. Yet, as our daily prayer and devotional remind us, in a world that measures meaning by years and accomplishments, we often forget just how temporary life really is. Lynette Kittle reflects on the sobering reality that every breath is a gift, urging us to live intentionally for eternity rather than the moment. When tragedy strikes or we’re reminded of death’s suddenness, it can shake our sense of security. But God never meant for these reminders to fill us with fear; instead, they call us back to perspective. James 4:14 tells us that our lives are “a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes,” not to diminish our worth but to reorient our focus toward what truly matters—living each day to glorify Him. Because of Christ, we do not have to fear death. Jesus tasted death for us (Hebrews 2:9) so that we can move from life to eternal life in His presence. Earth is not our permanent home. We are citizens of Heaven, created for something far greater than the temporary world we see. As believers, we can live with both urgency and peace—urgency to love, serve, and live for God today, and peace knowing our forever home is secure with Him. Let every breath be a reminder of His grace and an opportunity to glorify His name. Today's Bible Reading: "They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow." – Psalm 144:4 Key Takeaways Life is fleeting, but its brevity invites us to live with eternal purpose. God doesn’t want us to fear death—Christ has already conquered it. Our true home is in Heaven, where we will dwell with God forever. Each day is a sacred gift to glorify God and point others to His hope. Let’s Pray Together Dear Father, thank You for the sacred gift of life. Help me to remember how short and precious it is—not to fear its brevity but to live each day with eternity in mind. Thank You for the promise of eternal life through Jesus and for preparing a place for me in Your presence. May my life bring glory to You in every breath I take. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Can Poverty be a Blessing? A devotional on Luke 6–7 exploring poverty, generosity, and obedience through personal stories and biblical truth

A Prayer to Grow in Christ One Day at a Time | Your Daily Prayer

Spiritual growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily process of surrender, humility, and learning to reflect Christ’s heart. 00:00 - 00:09 - Bible Memory Verse 00:10 - 04:03 - Devotional 04:04 - 06:00 - Your Nightly Prayer In our daily prayer and devotional, Vivian Bricker shares how her early enthusiasm for sharing Jesus was marked by zeal, but not always by gentleness or grace. Over time, through both failure and faith, she learned that true growth comes by walking with Christ day by day. Just as the Apostle Paul declared that “to live is Christ and to die is gain,” our lives find meaning only when centered on Him. To live is Christ means surrendering our will, allowing Him to shape our attitudes, actions, and relationships. And while the process of growth can be painful—marked by pruning, trials, and refining—it also deepens our roots in faith and equips us to help others. God uses every circumstance—our mistakes, disappointments, and struggles—to grow us into the likeness of His Son. Even when we can’t see the progress, He’s working beneath the surface, producing maturity and steadfastness. Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t come through striving. It comes through abiding—listening, learning, and depending on Christ moment by moment. As we do, we echo Paul’s words and find joy in knowing that our lives belong fully to Jesus. Today's Bible Reading: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." – Philippians 1:21 Key Takeaways Spiritual growth takes time, humility, and daily dependence on Christ. Struggles and failures are opportunities for God to refine and strengthen us. “To live is Christ” means making Jesus the center and purpose of every day. True growth leads to deeper compassion and a greater heart for others. Let’s Pray Together Dear Jesus, I want to grow in You, even when growth feels slow or painful. Help me to be patient and faithful, learning to walk with You one day at a time. Teach me to echo Paul’s words—to live for You and bring glory to Your name. Strengthen my heart, renew my mind, and help me see every moment as a chance to grow closer to You. In Your name I pray, amen. Candace Cameron Bure Opens Up to John Crist About Blazing Her Own Career Path

Candace Cameron Bure opened up to John Crist about how she has been able to blaze her own career path. The actress, writer and podcast host mentioned that with her work, she is doing what she wants and saying what she wants. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear how Candace has been able to do this in an industry that typically puts up many barriers.

Conventional wisdom has been that you must do this or that or say this or that to succeed in Hollywood. Basically, if you want to be in the game, you have to play by the rules. To be honest, that is how it is in nearly every job and profession. We have always done things a certain way, so that is how you must do it, too.

Some people refuse to play by someone else’s rules. Simply because that’s the way we have always done things isn’t the greatest reason or argument for continuing to do things a particular way, especially if it’s not working. Candace is one of those people who has gone against the grain, choosing to do and say things in Hollywood that have gone against the norm.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Candace told John how she has been able to do this throughout her career. She says what she wants and puts out the movies and television shows she wants.

“I’ve always kind of been that way, and we’ve always,” she said. “I say ‘we.’ I’ve been with the same business partners for almost 30 years. I’m a loyalist at heart and love my team and my people. But we’ve just kind of forged a path when a lot of people were like, ‘Nope, you can’t do that. We can’t. You can’t.’ And we’ll say, ‘Well, we’ll find a way.’”

She added that her determination and perseverance have allowed her to “stay true to the things that I’ve wanted to and been willing to say no and find a different route to do it.”

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”
